Folic Acid & CoQ10: Your New BFF When Trying for a Baby
Thinking about having a baby? There’s SO much info out there, but if you ask around, almost everyone will mention "folic acid".
It’s a total must-have! Folic acid helps your future baby’s brain and spine develop, so experts recommend starting it even before you get pregnant.
But lately, there’s a new kid on the block: CoQ10. It’s an antioxidant that people say can help with egg quality, especially if you’re in your 30s or up. Basically, it gives your body a little extra support.
So what should you do?
-
Start taking folic acid (usually 400–800 mcg per day) before you start trying, super easy and super important!
-
Ask your doctor if CoQ10 could be a good fit for you (doses vary, but most people take 100–300 mg per day).
-
And remember, eating healthy and taking care of yourself matter too: supplements help, but they’re not magic.
