Patch Test First: A Simple Habit When Trying Imported Skincare at Home
Why a quick patch test saves you stress (and money)
Whenever we try a new product from the UK or Italy (moisturizer, serum, body wash, anything), I always do a quick patch test first. It takes 5 minutes and can save you from wasting money on something that doesn’t suit your skin.
How to patch test at home
-
Apply a small amount on your inner arm or behind the ear
-
Leave it for 24 hours
(for stronger products like exfoliants or brightening serums, wait 48 hours) -
If it gets itchy, red, or stings, wash it off and don’t use it
-
If it’s fine, you’re good to go
Small checks that help in our climate
-
Introduce one new product at a time (give it around a week)
-
Start slow: thin layer, every other day first
-
In PH weather, lightweight products usually feel better (less sticky)
-
If sensitive skin runs in the family, go fragrance-free
-
Store properly, avoid heat and sunlight, and check the 12M / 6M jar symbol
Imported health and beauty finds at dima.com.ph are carefully chosen, but every skin is different. Patch testing is a simple habit that helps you avoid irritation and figure out what actually works for you.
Note: If you have allergies or you react badly, stop using it immediately and consider consulting a professional.
